Sporting organisations in the Electorate of Cessnock have shared in $4.49 million following the awarding of grants in the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program.
The program provides grants for minor facility upgrades, new equipment and programs that support and encourage participation in sport and active recreation in NSW.
Grants totalling nearly $50,000 have been awarded in the Cessnock Electorate.
The successful recipients for the 2025 Local Sport Grant Program in the Electorate of Cessnock are:
- Cessnock Supporters Cricket Club is to receive $2,300.00 for new Pitch Cylinder Mower and FrogBox.
- Barnsley United Junior Soccer Club is to receive $13,277.00 for project Barnsley Bulldogs – Everyone Kicking Goals.
- Bellbird Junior Football Club is to receive $2,217.00 for club equipment.
- Mount Sugarloaf Croquet Club Inc is to receive $8,000.00 for new croquet mallets for loan when Learning to Play.
- Wine Country Cricket Club is to receive $10,299.00 for Wine Country Cricket Club ground improvement initiative.
- Cardiff Boolaroo District Cricket Club Inc is to receive $3,496.00 for turf cricket pitch covers/tarpaulins.
- Abermain Rams Football Club Inc is to receive $9,653.00 towards enhancing Mini Roos Football with portable goals.

“This funding will help our local clubs and their army of volunteers to provide more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the benefits of sport and active recreation.”
“The Local Sport Grant Program funding will help 7 local clubs across multiple sports to upgrade vital equipment and resources to enable more local residents to participate in sport.
