Successful 2015 Community Building Partnership Recipients Announced

Clayton Barr, MP, State Member for the Electorate of Cessnock advises the following applicants were successful in receiving funding from the Cessnock Electorate’s $400,000 Community Building Partnership funding allocation for 2015, with recipients only recently being announced:

Stanford Merthyr P&C Association – School Hall Project, Flooring – $8,000
Cessnock West Public School P&C Association Incorporated – Netball court resurfacing – $30,924
Kurri Kurri Tennis Club Inc – Replacement of two Synthetic Grass Tennis courts – $27,000
Branxton Preschool Inc – New outdoor storage shed – $14,400
Kurri Weston District Cricket Club – Construction of Cricket Nets at Kurri Kurri Central Regional Sportsground – $19,000
Barnsley Public School Parents and Citizens Association – New Basketball court – $46,345
Branxton Greta Community Business Chamber Incorporated – Improvements to Branxton Oval for RV Friendly Town compliance – $30,000
Cessnock City Hornets Football Club Inc – Turner Park Football fencing upgrade – $50,000
Weston Workers Bears Football Club – Access and safety for all – $30,000
UCA Maitland Eastside Congregation – Improvement of property – $6,800
The Scout Association of Australia NSW Branch: 1st Branxton Greta – Scout Hall Renovation – $16,000
Mount Sugarloaf Croquet Club Inc – Large Lawn Reticulation – $7,420
West Wallsend District Heritage Group Incorporated – Catering for all ages and abilities through our heritage – $14,111

With a large number of applications lodged, I know there are many disappointed groups in the area who continue to work hard for our community who missed out’ said Mr Barr. ‘This funding allows for much work to be done to improve facilities that all members of the groups can use’.
