Pop-up Bushfire Recovery Centre in Weston

State Member for the Electorate of Cessnock, Clayton Barr, MP is encouraging community members affected by last week’s bushfires in Abermain, Kurri Kurri, and Weston to come along to the pop-up NSW Government Bushfire Recovery Centre which will be operating in Weston this Thursday and Friday.

There will be multiple services available at the centre to answer questions regarding support and services available to those who have been impacted by the recent fire emergency.

“I would encourage those who have been impacted by the fires to come along to the Bushfire Recovery Centre to find out what support is available,” said Mr Barr.

The Bushfire Recovery Centre will be at Weston Civic Centre which is located in Second Street, Weston and will be open Thursday 21 December 12pm to 6:30pm and Friday 22 December 9:30am to 2:30pm.

In addition to the pop-up recovery centre on Thursday and Friday, NSW Rural Fire Service will be holding two community meetings this Wednesday 20 December at Abermain Plaza Hall and Kurri Kurri Seniors Citizens Centre to provide information on the fire and recovery.

At the community meeting there will be representatives from Rural Fire Service (RFS), Fire and Rescue NSW (RFNSW), National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), NSW Reconstruction Authority and Cessnock City Council.

Times and locations of Wednesday’s community meetings:
Wednesday 20 December at 2pm, Abermain Plaza Hall (3 Bathurst Street, Abermain)
Wednesday 20 December at 6:30pm, Kurri Kurri Senior Citizens Centre (corner Barton and Hampden Street, Kurri Kurri)
