Women’s sport in the Electorate of Cessnock has benefitted from a $1,898,400 injection following the awarding of grants in the NSW Government’s Level the Playing Field Program.
The funding was awarded to the Kurri Kurri Netball Facility as part of 26 projects across NSW through the NSW Government’s $30 million Level the Playing Field Program to make sports facilities more inclusive for women and girls.
The Program was inspired by the success of the Matildas at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 and will fund the construction of new and upgraded sports facilities, inclusive amenities and improved lighting through grants from $200,000 – $2 million.
