Mr CLAYTON BARR (Cessnock): A massive and heartfelt thankyou to all groups and volunteers who provide support for so many in our community with some or all of food, food parcels, cups of tea and coffee and a friendly, welcoming place to go in a person’s time of need. These groups operate at different locations, times and days of the week right across the Electorate. Some of these wonderful groups are: Samaritans Food Assistance, St Vincent De Paul, Hunter Food Relief, Soupz On Mission House, Rotary Club Cessnock, Lions Club, Allira House, Seventh Day Adventist Church, The Centre at Kurri Kurri, Food Care, Sugarvalley Neighbourhood Centre, Edgeworth Memorial Neighbourhood Centre and Mums’ Cottage. The groups are able to operate because of donations from the community, major and small shops and supermarkets, OzHarvest, The Bikers Hand, fundraising, building owners such as churches and charities and community groups.
