Congratulations to Cessnock Council and Roads and Maritime Services for the completion of $20 million worth of works promised in 2011 of Broke and McDonald Roads, which includes 2 roundabouts and many kilometres of road construction.
‘This funding was promised in 2011 and committed to ensure the completion of this important infrastructure within our Electorate’ said Clayton Barr. ‘We have many locals and tourists who use this road regularly, so to witness the transformation first hand has been gratifying’.
‘I am lead to understand that the official opening went well today with Michael Johnsen from Upper Hunter being present. Minister Gay’s office failed to invite me to attend although they did manage to invite the local Councillors – my lack of invitation obviously an embarrassing oversight on Minister Gay’s behalf – especially as neither he or Duty MLC Scot MacDonald were able to attend.’ said Mr Barr.
