The next round of the NSW Government Community Building Partnership Program (CBPP) will open to applications in January 2025, with $450,000 available to community groups, not-for-profits and Councils across the Electorate of Cessnock.

The program invests in local infrastructure projects that deliver positive social, environmental, and recreational outcomes while promoting community participation, inclusion, and cohesion.

Since 2009, the program has awarded more than $464 million to more than 20,900 projects across the state.

Incorporated not-for-profit community organisations and local councils will be eligible to apply for grants of between $10,000 and $100,000.

Grants can be for building, refurbishing, or repairing community infrastructure, or for buying freestanding equipment or vehicles.

Program Guidelines will be available soon at www.nsw.gov.au/cbp.

Applications will be accepted online from Tuesday 28 January 2025 and will close at 5pm AEDT, Friday 21 February 2025. Successful organisations will be announced later in 2025.

Previous successful projects across the Electorate of Cessnock have included amenities/bathroom refurbishment, outdoor playground equipment, resurfacing of basketball court, motor vehicles, ride-on-mowers, food trailer, covered walkways, sunshades and more.

Member for the Electorate of Cessnock, Clayton Barr said:

“Since 2009 many groups and organisations across the Electorate of Cessnock have benefited from and been recipients of the Community Building Partnership Program.”

“This is a long-running program for a reason – the grants make an important and lasting impact in our local communities.”

“I encourage all community groups and organisations to start thinking about projects that need attention in their organisation/group ahead of applications formally opening in January.”
