Mr CLAYTON BARR (Cessnock): Congratulations to Cessnock Electorate’s Chase Butler and Callum Elsley on being named in the 2026 Australian Schoolboys rugby league team. Both Chase and Callum are from Kurri Kurri. Chase attends All Saints College Maitland and Callum attends Kurri Kurri High School. Being chosen to represent in their chosen sport is not new to either student, with Chase being a member of the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges team and Callum being a member of the NSW Combined High Schools team. There are six Hunter players named in the 2026 Australian Schoolboys team – one player from Maitland who also attends All Saints College and three students from Hunter Sports High School. The team is scheduled to play an international fixture against the Papua New Guinea Junior Kumuls in October 2026.
