I recognise, congratulate and thank the organisers of the inaugural Cessnock Postie Bike Grand Prix, which was held two weekends ago. Unfortunately, it was an incredibly hot day. Despite temperatures reaching more than 40 degrees, approximately 10,000 visitors attended the event. The motorbikes were standard 110cc postie motorbikes and national and international riders competed. Cessnock Motorcycle Club president Dave Robinson was the main organiser. I thank Dave and his club members for their organisational skills. I also thank Cessnock City Council for being so accommodating in helping them get the event up and running. I hope this becomes an annual event.
